Celebrating our 2026 EdTech student interns

This summer, three students joined the Faculty of Natural Sciences EdTech Lab for a six-week internship, gaining hands-on experience of digital education while contributing their own perspectives to live projects across the Faculty. 

The 2026 programme combined practical project work with professional development, giving the interns opportunities to work alongside EdTech colleagues, develop digital and communication skills, and explore how technology can support teaching, learning and the student experience. 

Their work focused on several key strands, including supporting students in Canvas, contributing a student perspective to digital education projects, exploring Generative AI for student support, and developing skills in areas such as learning design, accessibility, multimedia production and professional working practices. The accompanying poster provides an overview of the projects, activities and development opportunities that formed part of the six-week programme. 

As part of the internship, each student also created a Week in the Life of an EdTech Intern video, offering a personal insight into their experience of working with the team, the activities they took part in and the skills they developed along the way.
