New for the 2026/27 academic year, this scholarship provides financial support for external students from widening participation backgrounds taking their intercalated BSc at ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ.

To be eligible to apply, candidates must:

  • Possess a Home tuition fee status.
  • Have applied for the School of Medicine intercalated BSc programmes (i.e.applicants whose first choice iBSc is Biomedical Engineering or Management, which are run by different Faculties within ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, are not eligible).
  • Have met their home institution’s definition of a Widening Participation candidate upon entry to their current degree programme. Applicants who are unsure if this applies to them should seek clarification from their home institution.
  • Not be in receipt of other scholarships or bursaries that would exceed the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ College Cost of Living in London if the SMDT was awarded (based on the average cost of living for 9 months).
  • Be in good standing.
