I was born in the Netherlands. I am researching the interaction between climate and human well-being. We look at developing scenarios in which people can live a good life on a healthy planet. This involves researching energy, emissions, and poverty.

Who is your STEM hero?

Nicholas Georgescu-Roegen, one of the founders of ecological economics, for his interdisciplinarity. He applied technical knowledge to social problems.

The bike. What an amazing transportation vehicle it is. (Electricity is pretty cool, too.)
