Why has the Turnitin interface changed?
Access to Turnitin submissions and feedback prior to the 2026/27 academic year is not possible via Canvas, to access older submissions it is possible to view them via Turnitin online.
IMPORTANT! Students should not submit to inboxes in Turnitin online, please always submit to your Turnitin assignments via the inbox in your Canvas course unless given specific guidance to follow a different workflow by your department.
What has changed?
Access to Turnitin submissions prior to the 2026/27 academic year
With the university migration from Blackboard and Insendi to Canvas, this has impacted the availability of accessing submissions for older courses directly in the LMS. It is no longer possible to access older Turnitin submissions directly via the courses that were migrated from Blackboard and Insendi to Canvas.
Staff and students must now to access the Turnitin Submission that had been submitted via Blackboard or Insendi.
Once logged in to turnitinuk.com it is possible to select Blackboard or Insendi courses from previous years. The screen shot below shows an example course list, to find the assignment you wish to access select the course the Turnitin Assignment was created in.
Example: DEMO12345 - Turnitin Demonstration Course _29290_1
This will display all the Turnitin Assignments associated with that course.
Select View to view all the submissions in a Turnitin Assignment Inbox.
