Our mission

We need to develop new ways to help people live well with dementia. We have an ageing population, limited resources for home care and no immediate cures available. All too often patients are isolated and develop preventable problems leading to unnecessary hospital admissions. New technologies hold great promise for providing solutions. We are working to focus the best minds on developing new ways of caring for people with dementia through advanced technologies.

Minder and MinderCare

Minder and MinderCare

At the centre of much of the research within the Care Research & Technology centre is a technology platform that we have developed to deliver dementia research and dementia care into the homes of people living with dementia.

Minder is the name of our smart home system that links sensors in the home to clinicians and researchers. We use this technology to deliver MinderCare, a clinical service, that supports people living with dementia to remain healthy and independent in their homes. Read more about Minder and MinderCare.
