The nominees for this year’s FoNS Annual Prizes for Excellence have been announced, following a record number of nominations to this year’s Prizes.

The FoNS Annual Prizes for Excellence are designed to recognise individuals who have made a major contribution to the work of the Faculty of Natural Sciences. 

This year, the categories were expanded to reflect the wide range of roles across FoNS. The categories were: 

• Inspirational Leadership 
• Outstanding Individual Contribution 
• Outstanding Team 
• Unsung Hero 
• Health & Safety (The Jan de Abela-Borg Prize)  
• Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) 

Winners will be announced at the FoNS Summer Celebration, held on 2 July 2026, and will each receive a trophy in recognition of their contribution.
