With the new year underway, our Spring Term Careers Fairs are approaching. Whether you’re exploring options, actively applying, or simply curious about what’s out there, these events are designed to help you take the next step in your career development.

This term, we’re hosting two fairs you won’t want to miss:

• Spring Careers Fair on Thursday 19 February: Meet employers from a range of sectors including technology, engineering, consultancy and more. This fair is ideal if you’re exploring graduate roles, summer internships, or want to better understand the opportunities across major industries.
• The Green Careers Fair on Tuesday 24 February: Bringing together leading companies from various industries that focus on sustainability practices and offer green transition roles, this event gives you the chance to speak with employers and learn about career paths that make a global impact.

Why attend?

Careers fairs offer a great opportunity to:

• Explore a range of industries – These events bring together employers from a broad range of sectors, helping you discover roles that align with your skills, interests and ambitions.
• Have meaningful conversations – Ask recruiters directly about company culture, early career roles, application timelines and pathways into their organisation.
• Get insider application advice – Learn what employers look for at each stage of the recruitment process and strengthen your future applications.
• Build your network – Even a brief conversation could lead to future connections, insights or opportunities.

Who can attend?

All ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ students, from first year undergraduates to PhD researchers, and recent ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ alumni are welcome.
There’s no need to book a place, just show up on the day, but please remember to bring your ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ ID to sign into the event.

How should I prepare?

Boost your confidence before attending the fairs by watching our short video and browsing our Networking webpage. These are packed with practical tips to help you approach employers, ask great questions and make a strong impression.

To make the most of the fairs:
•    Check the employer lists before attending;
•    Shortlist the organisations you want to speak with;
•    Prepare a few guiding questions;
•    Bring curiosity, confidence and an open mind.
Attending can help you clarify your interests, even if you’re unsure what direction you want to take.

You can also prepare with support from our Careers Service before and after the fairs. We offer informative seminars and interactive workshops, as well as useful guides and one to one appointments to help you feel confident and career ready.
