The Pride Network was established in 2006 (originally named ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ 600) to support lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender staff at the university. The group’s original name reflects the estimation that around 10% of the UK’s population is LGBT – in 2006 this equalled 600 of ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's 6,000 staff. The Pride Network today remains an active staff network, welcoming LGBTQ+ staff and postgraduate students and straight allies.

The ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Pride Network is ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ’s staff network for LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies. It helps build community, promotes inclusion, raises awareness of LGBTQ+ issues, and supports a more inclusive workplace across the university.
The ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Pride Network is open to ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ staff who identify as LGBTQ+ and to colleagues who want to support LGBTQ+ inclusion as allies.
The network brings colleagues together through events, awareness activities, peer connection, and advocacy. It also helps raise the visibility of LGBTQ+ issues and supports ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ’s wider equality, diversity and inclusion goals.
