³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ issues guidance on the criteria for awarding bonus payments and the amounts that should be awarded for each grade.

³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ employs Clinical Academic staff on NHS National terms and conditions. Some Clinical Academics receive Excellence Awards, which are not under ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ’s control or funded by ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ. These are, in effect, bonus payments awarded by the Department of Health & Social Care to senior Clinical Academics for their clinical and academic contributions.

Although ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ does not decide these bonuses, they affect the bonus pay gap at ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ because a higher proportion of senior Clinical Academic staff are white. Therefore, Clinical Excellence Awards have been analysed separately.
