Earthquakes are a major global concern affecting people’s lives, economy and wellbeing. Since 1900, 2.3 million people have died in 2,233 earthquakes[] and we can only expect those numbers to continue increasing as the exposure and vulnerability of communities grow year to year.

We work to characterise the relationship between strong ground-motion and structural response, from fundamental relationships grounded in Dimensional and Orientational Analyses to hazard-consistent models that respect the causal chain from seismic source to structural demand.
