Visas
Once ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ has issued your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), you can begin your student visa application. Your CAS is a reference number issued by ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ that you will need to include in your application.
³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's International Student Support Service can provide advice on making a student visa application.
If you need help with the process, the International Student Support team can provide specialist immigration advice to prospective students.
ATAS
If ATAS clearance is required for your course and nationality, you must obtain it before applying for your Student visa. Check ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's central ATAS guidance to find out whether this applies to you.
An ATAS certificate is valid for six months from its date of issue. You must submit your visa application before your ATAS certificate expires.
You should apply for ATAS clearance well in advance of your visa application. Processing can take longer during the busy summer months.
You will need to include a short description of the research you will undertake in your ATAS application. Please contact your EEE supervisor for this. If you are due to start your studies at the end of September, we recommend requesting your research statement before the end of July, as August is the main holiday month in the UK.
