The AI4Urban envisions a transformative future where advanced digital twin technologies, powered by hybrid artificial intelligence and physics-based modelling, enable cities to become sustainable, climate-resilient, and energy-positive by 2050, in alignment with UK decarbonisation goals.

Our group brings together world-leading experts, researchers, and practitioners to advance the transformative role of AI in urban sustainability, focusing on reducing carbon and pollutant emissions, enhancing public health, and enabling innovative, human-centred urban design. By integrating complex, dynamic urban processes and leveraging real-time data, AI4Urban aims to develop intelligent, adaptive systems that support decision making across policy, planning, and daily urban operations. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, engagement with industry and communities, and the development of actionable strategies, the group seeks to accelerate the integration of AI driven solutions into urban governance, fostering cleaner, healthier, and more inspiring cities for a sustainable future.
