³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ and External Connections
The Durrant Group is part of the Department of Chemistry in the recently built Molecular Sciences Research Hub on ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ College’s White City Campus. The group’s research aligns with several of the Departments research themes, including in particular it’s Energy Theme. We have extensive collaborations with groups in the Department, as well groups across ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ and globally. For example, the group currently has external collaborations and project with groups and companies in Brazil, China, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Japan, Saudia Arabia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan and USA.
Professor Durrant leads ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's Centre for Processable Electronics, which brings together researchers across ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ working on processable electronic materials and devices for sustainable energy, soft electronics and other emerging technologies. This centre facilitates inter-departmental collaborations across college, as well as enabling access to extensive shared research facilities for materials and device fabrication and characterisation.
Alongside leading his research group at ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ College, Professor Durrant is the Ser Solar Professor at the , Swansea University. This enables strong collaborations between the Centre for Processable Electronics and SPECIFIC, including in particular the, led by Professor Durrant. SPECIFIC compliments the more fundamental scientific studies of the Durrant group at ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ College by addressing the technological development of printed photovoltaic devices. More widely Professor Durrant founded the UK's , which promotes and supports an effective UK solar fuels research community, and remains closely involved in its activities. He is also the UK lead of as well as ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ's Artificial Leaf initiative.
