About Me

I am a PhD student in the Mallach laboratory in the Department of Brain Sciences within the UK Dementia Research Institute centre at ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ. My project is focussed on investigating the role of microglial autophagy dysfunction in Parkinson’s disease and Parkinson’s disease dementia. The Autophagy system plays a key role in mitochondrial health, phagocytic activity, and the inflammatory response in microglia, but research on the role of autophagy in PD has so far focussed on neurons, I aim to investigate the way autophagy effects microglia specifically.

In my spare time I enjoy rock climbing and writing short fiction.
