I returned to ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ as an ICL-CNRS Fellow to continue my longstanding collaboration with Professors Dan Crisan and Darryl Holm on stochastic modelling for ocean dynamics.
My visit built on our work within the ERC Synergy project Stochastic Transport in Upper Ocean Dynamics (STUOD), which brings together researchers at ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, INRIA and IFREMER. A particular focus of my visit was the new data from the Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) mission, and the development of stochastic models and data-assimilation approaches to help analyse and interpret these new observations.
During my time at ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, I also worked with colleagues on thermal effects in ocean dynamics and new approaches to modelling wave–current interactions. These discussions allowed us to further develop our existing collaboration and explore new research directions arising from the STUOD project and the availability of the SWOT data.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity to work closely with Dan, Darryl and their teams, and to strengthen the collaboration between ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, INRIA and IFREMER. It also helped us lay the groundwork for future joint research and funding opportunities.
