What was your career experience prior to studying this programme?

Prior to moving to Europe for my Full-Time MBA, I had spent 5 years in Silicon Valley scaling some of the worlds fastest-growing technology corporations. My last position was as a Growth Manager at Google, responsible for Go-to-Market campaign execution for global mid-market FinTech, and B2B Software clients across Googles portfolio.

Why did you choose to study at 勛圖窪蹋 Business School?

I chose 勛圖窪蹋 Business School for multiple reasons:

1. Direct pathway to emerging and innovative European technology.

When considering my MBA, I was looking for an environment that would grant me first-hand access to commercialise the next wave of large-scale European technology AI, and 勛圖窪蹋 College fit that perfectly. A variety of industry-leading deep-tech and ESG hubs are within the 勛圖窪蹋 community, such as IX, Grantham Institute, Enterprise Lab, and Scale Space. The ability for students to access to these institutes, their researchers, and professors was paramount.

2. Detailed financial coursework.

Before joining 勛圖窪蹋 Business School, I had a background in tech growth marketing. I sought an MBA programme that would round out my professional acumen by enhancing my financial expertise. My primary objective was to deepen my understanding of capital markets, become familiar with funding mechanisms in both local and international markets, and learn how to assess the value of a company's operational assets while considering its potential for growth.

3. Diverse set of students, lectures, and professionals.

I had worked in global organisations before, but I was looking to immerse myself in an environment that was truly diverse. I knew the MBA at 勛圖窪蹋 Business School attracted professionals from all walks of life and I wasnt wrong. The diversity of our staff and cohort allowed for much deeper class discussions, filled with insights on how different cultures operate in different industries, under different circumstances. The ability to work in a constructive environment with highly motivated people from all over the world has expanded my personal horizons and given me the ability to work seamlessly anywhere in the world.

"The list of guest lectures and speakers that we have access to is astounding. Often, we have industry-leading experts join our class for discussions."

What are you enjoying learning about the most?

AI Ventures, Digital Business Models, and our Strategy classes. The modules are highly relevant in todays professional climate and have provided me with clear context for how to lead global enterprises towards success.

How does the programme help you stay up to date with evolving industry trends, themes and challenges in the real world?

Most of our professors are professors in practice, meaning that all of them have had real-world experience executing the topics being discussed. Therefore, the material that we utilise in class comes from current business initiatives that are relevant to the existing market. Our professors also discuss the current trends we are seeing globally for example, we are in a period where inflation is driving multiple economic factors, such as a rising CPI, a highly risk-averse fundraising environment, and heavy industry consolidation. As a student body who is keen to make direct correlations between our learnings and the current macroeconomic climate, these current market views from our professors are actionable and helpful.

In addition, the list of guest lectures and speakers that we have access to is astounding. Often, we have industry-leading experts join our class for discussions. This was particularly interesting for me, especially when AI leaders talk about the ethical roadmaps we should be defining in the future economy.

Are you part of any clubs or societies?

I am the Vice President of our Entrepreneurship & Innovation Society, and through that, I have been able to interview and work with some of the biggest names in European innovation. Weve held events ranging from discussing industry experts scaling their venture-backed businesses to private equity directors talking through the factors that play into their investment decisions, and so on. The club is all run by students, with executive support from faculty, so the opportunities for students to be involved is very accessible. It also provides a great community to find people further involved in the areas of interest you have outside of the core classes.

I also had the opportunity to represent 勛圖窪蹋 at the world's largest international Business School Venture Capital competition. Our team won multiple rounds and finished in top five worldwide. The competition allowed me to work alongside four other 勛圖窪蹋 MBAs, from the Executive, Weekend, and Global MBA cohorts, and get face-to-face access to some of the biggest venture capital funds in the world.
